WHAT NOT TO MISS THIS SUMMER IN THE ALGARVE
The Algarve has a lot to offer and, besides its wonderful beaches, there are plenty of activities, tour options and places to explore. Because the Algarve is more than just beaches - although we agree that you should also enjoy this beautiful small paradise! - here are six things to do during your stay in the south of the country.
A DAY AT THE WATER PARK
They are spread throughout the Algarve and will always bring you joyful moments with family and friends. On hot days, there is no better plan than to stay in the ocean... and if you add some adrenaline to that plan, the result is even better! Aquashow is one of the most popular water parks in the Algarve - and we clearly understand why! - and it offers a very full-package experience for the whole family. However, we would also suggest other water parks such as: Aqualand and Slide&Splash, that are equally amazing and will also be good choices for a very different and fun day outside!

BOAT TRIP
How about taking advantage of the beautiful Atlantic Ocean to explore another side of the country? The Royal Nautic will show you all the particularities of the Algarve flora and fauna, while you explore areas that you wouldn't be able to see otherwise - we strongly suggest a trip to the Benagil caves.
If you are staying at Hotel Faro, you can book and enjoy one of their boat trip offers - you can choose to go on a one-day trip along the Ria Formosa or a sunset trip at the end of the day.
For families, the Pirate Boat is a good option - together you can tour the coast and caves of the Algarve. There are several companies offering this kind of experience in the Algarve, so you only have to choose the one that best fits your preferences.
VISIT THE CIÊNCIA VIVA SCIENCE CENTRE
Avoiding the peak hours of heat is precious advice, and therefore we suggest you pay a visit to the Ciência Viva Science Center during those hours (and not only). There are several centers, spread throughout the Algarve, but they are all based on the same concept: here, everyone is invited to experiment, to explore, to discover more about the world and everyday activities. The Ciência Viva Science Center is ideal for kids and grown-ups. You are never too old to play around in this museum!

DISCOVER THE FIESA SCULPTURES
Every year, sand sculptures invade the Algarve to become part of a fascinating exhibition that showcases the talent of those who create them. Sand City has become a must for anyone visiting the Algarve during the summer season and provides a truly unique experience. Besides the sculptures, Sand City also offers a full set of activities that everyone will enjoy, including guided tours, traditional games, concerts and workshops.

VISIT PORTIMÃO’S PEDAGOGICAL FARM
Two hectares of flat land ready to be explored. The space is filled with native species, cultivation areas and shelters for the farm's resident animals, which delight visitors. Apart from the visit, there are activities specifically designed for children and a program that aims to increase the environmental awareness of all visitors. Despite being in Portimão, in the center of one of the most highly populated cities in the Algarve, the Pedagogical Farm takes us to another world, where the birds sing loud and clear.

PLAY A ROUND OF MINI-GOLF
Even for those traveling with children, mini golf is an excellent idea, as there are courses of varying difficulty spread throughout the Algarve region. The Family Golf Park in Albufeira is a great pick for hot days, since all 36 holes are under the shade - the park has two courses at your disposal, surrounded by green areas and lakes that make the experience even better.
